Niagara Falls, New York State - Luna Island

Luna Island is a small uninhabited island separating the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. The island covers an area measuring three-quarters of an acre (0.3 hectare), spanning 350 feet (110 meters) long and 130 feet (40 meters) wide. Luna Island is a thick layer of dolomite limestone rock and accessible from Goat Island by crossing a pedestrian bridge across the rapids of the Niagara River. Visitors standing at the edge of Luna Island are just a few feet away for a close view of the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls.
