Goat Island is a small island situated in the middle (US side) of the Niagara River, separating the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls from the Horseshoe Falls. Goat Island is part of Niagara Falls State Park and measures about a mile (1.6 km) in an east-west direction and 0.3 miles (0.5 km) at its widest point. Two bridges (carrying foot, car, and trackless train traffic) connect the island with the US mainland. The various points on Goat Island (particularly Terrapin Point) offers some of the best views of the Niagara Falls.
