Niagara Falls, New York State - The Horsehoe Falls

The Horseshoe Falls (also known as the Canadian Falls) is the largest of the three falls that make up the Niagara Falls. Two-thirds of the Horseshoe Falls is situated in the Canadian province of Ontario and the remaining one-third in the US state of New York. At 2,600 feet (790 meters) wide, the Horseshoe Falls is more than twice the width of the American Falls. The Horseshoe Falls accounts for 90% of the volume of water (after diversions for hydro-power generation) flowing down the Niagara Falls.
