Lincoln Park is an urban park located half a mile (800 meters) from Albany's waterfront. The park has an interesting history and the site of where the Mohicans and their Dutch allies were attacked by the Mohawks in 1626. Lincoln Park spans 68 acres (28 ha) featuring open fields and pockets of tree cover. A popular spot is the Lincoln Pool, measuring 2 acres (0.80 ha) and 7 feet (2.1 meters) deep in center. Other recreational facilities include playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and handball courts.
