Upper Manhattan is the northern region of New York City's borough of Manhattan, generally described as beyond 59th Street. It is primarily residential and includes the affluent neighborhoods of the Upper East Side and Upper West Side as well as the less affluent neighborhoods of Spanish Harlem and Harlem. The Upper East Side is also home to several diplomatic missions. Upper Manhattan is not a major tourist destination in New York City but its most famous attractions are Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
