The New York City Subway is the busiest commuter train system in the United States, covering a distance of 232 miles (373 km) and more than 450 stations. The rail system connects the city's borough of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. However, there is no connection to the island borough of Staten Island, which has its own rail system known as the Staten Island Railway. All routes on the New York City Subway passes through Manhattan except the G train, Franklin Avenue Shuttle, and Rockaway Park Shuttle.
