New York City - Staten Island Railway

The Staten Island Railway (SIR) is the only commuter or rapid transit system in New York City's borough of Staten Island - the New York City Subway does not extend into Staten Island. The transit system comprises of a single line spanning 14 miles (23 km) in a north-south direction across the island. There are 14 stations along the route, with the northern most station located in St. George and southern most station in Tottenville. The Staten Island Railway operates everyday throughout the year, 24 hours a day.
