Historic Richmond Town is a living museum situated in the geographical center of Staten Island. Covering 25 acres (10 ha), it is home to 30 historical buildings constructed from the late 17th to early 20th century. Notable buildings include the Third County Court House (1837), Britton Cottage (1670), and the Lake-Tysen House (1740). There are scheduled demonstrations showing how early Americans conducted their chores without modern technology. Guided tours exploring the historical buildings are available.
