Downtown Brooklyn is situated in the northwestern section Brooklyn, linked to Midtown Manhattan across the East River by the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. The downtown area is the hub of Brooklyn, being the home of the borough's local government and center of commerce and business. It is also the third largest central business district in New York City after Midtown Manhattan and Lower Manhattan. Attractions here include the Fulton Mall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and New York Transit Museum.
