Staten Island, New York City - Borough of Staten Island

Staten Island is a borough in New York City, situated south of Manhattan and west of New Jersey. The island is the least populated of the boroughs, home to around 470,000 people living on a land area of 59 sq. miles (152 sq. km). Unlike the other boroughs in New York City, Staten Island has a suburban rather than urban character. The Staten Island Ferry service connects the island with Manhattan - the free ferry service is a popular visitor attraction offering views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Lower Manhattan.
