The Bronx is located north of Manhattan and Queens, and the only borough in New York City that is mainly situated on the mainland. The borough is home to 1.4 million people living on a land area measuring 42 sq. miles (110 sq. km). The Bronx River divides the Bronx into sections two, with the eastern section being hillier and western section flatter. This New York City borough is home to the world famous Bronx Zoo, New York Botanical Gardens and the New York Yankees professional baseball team.
