Buffalo, New York State - Climate in Buffalo

Buffalo experiences a continental-type climate but with strong maritime influence from the Great Lakes. The summer months from June to August are dry and sunny, but the cooling breeze from Lake Erie moderates the summer temperatures - thus the average temperature highs ranges from 75°F (24°C) to 80°F (27°C). However, Buffalo has a reputation for its very cold winters, with snow lasting from late December to early March. The coldest months are January and February when temperatures are usually below freezing.
