If you are staying at one of the five hotels in Downtown Albany, you can get around the area by walking with many of the sights, restaurants, and shops located within walking distances. However, traffic in Albany is light compared to New York City that you may want to drive or rent a car to get around the city, especially if you plan to travel beyond the city limits. Nevertheless, expect traffic crawls during the peak commuting hours and finding a parking space around Center Square and some of the neighborhoods can be challenging.
