Sandwiched between Central Park and the East River is Manhattan's wealthy neighborhood of the Upper East Side. This neighborhood in New York City is associated with high society and the affluent, with real estates here being some of the most expensive in the United States. The Upper West Side is also home to many foreign diplomatic missions, many housed in former mansions. The area is home to many world famous museums, and the string of museums along Fifth Avenue is known as the Museum Mile.
