Downtown Manhattan is the southern portion of Manhattan. It is situated below 14th street and comprises of several neighborhoods (including Chinatown, Greenwich Village, and East Village) and the southern most portion of Manhattan known as Lower Manhattan. Within Lower Manhattan is New York City's financial district of Wall Street, home of the New York Stock Exchange and corporate headquarters of NASDAQ. It is also the location of the Whitehall Terminal for the ferry service between Staten Island.
