Located in Downtown Buffalo, Buffalo City Hall is the seat of Buffalo's local government. The 32-story Art Deco building was constructed in 1931 at a cost of nearly $6.9 million, and was then one of the costliest municipality buildings in the United States. At 378 feet (115 meters), it is one of the largest and tallest municipal buildings in the state of New York - it was also the tallest building in Buffalo until 1970. The building's exterior and interior are impressive, adorned with symbolic figures and decorations.
