Albany, New York State - An Archtecturial Haven

Albany is a haven for architectural buildings ranging from the historic to modern. Notable historic buildings include Albany City Hall (opened in 1883) with its Romanesque style architecture and the New York State Capitol (opened in 1899) with an architectural mix of Romanesque and Renaissance Classical styles. The most prominent landmark building in Albany is the Empire State Plaza (constructed from 1965 to 1978), a large government complex and a fine example of late American modern architecture.
